Diane Adam is the current editor of The Greek Star newspaper. She came to the newspaper in 1994, after having worked as an English teacher in Kato Patissia, Athens, Greece. Active in the Greek-American community, Diane served as a board member of the Hellenic Foundation and the Hellenic American Women’s Council. She and her husband, George, reside in the northwest suburbs.

Will they be bumped up to first class or simply given vouchers.

Benefit concert for Saint Basil Academy

On Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Hellenic Cultural Center, 27-09 Crescent St., Astoria, NY, Greek classical concert pianist Maria Pikoula and violinist Christopher Coritsidis will perform a benefit concert for Saint Basil Academy for Children in Garrison, NY entitled "A MUSICAL CRUISE: From the Rhine to the Aegean Sea."  The Greek Star recently sat down with Pikoula and Coritsidis for an inside look at these two musicians and their thoughts on music and helping those at Saint Basil Academy.

Save The Archives Officially Launches

NEW YORK—Save The Archives (SaveTheArchives.com) proudly announces the launch of the initiative to preserve the migration history of Greek immigrants through the digitization of entry archives. With the support from the Greek diaspora, Save The Archives is raising awareness and collecting donations to help the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Athens to facilitate the digitization process.

On Sunday, November 18, Hellenic Link–Midwest presents professor Antony Avgoustakis, in a lecture titled “Women in the Ancient World, Athens and Rome”. The event will take place at 3 pm at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel, 10249 West Irving Park Road at Schiller Park. Admission is free for HLM members and $5 for non-members.
